Huck Fastening Systems was founded by Lou Huck over 60 years ago. Huck was the pioneer of an original style of LockBolt which is now known as the HuckBolt. The HuckBolt incorporates elements of a pin and collar system with a mandrel type pintail. The installation tool engages the pintail and forces the collar and pin to clamp the parent material. The force of the clamp causes the collar to swage into grooves on the pin, which increases the tightness of the bond. When the clamp force reaches a predetermined level, the pintail breaks off leaving the installed pin and collar. The benefit of this style of fastener is a very high resistance to vibration-related loosening. The fastener is permanently installed with no need for re-torque, and is tamperproof.
